Robbie Williams (born Robert Peter Williams; 13 February 1974) is a British singer-songwriter and occasional actor. He is a member of pop group Take That. Williams rose to fame in the band’s first run in the early 1990s. After many disagreements with the management and certain group members, Williams left the group in 1995 to launch his solo career. On 15 July 2010, it was announced he had rejoined Take That and that the group intended to release a new album in November 2010. His debut album, Life thru a Lens, was released on 29 September 1997, on EMI Records. The album produced a string of successful singles, including “Angels”, which has become one of his well known songs to date. Other successful singles from the album include “Old Before I Die” and “South of the Border”. Williams followed up the success of his first album with his second album I’ve Been Expecting You, released on EMI Records on 26 October 1998. Like his debut, the album charted at number one on the UK Album Charts and was successful on other worldwide album charts. The album produced Williams’s first UK number one single to that point, “Millennium”. His third and [...]

Pop star Robbie Williams and US actress and model Ayda Field have married at their Los Angeles mansion. Williams, 36, and Field, 31, married in front of family and friends in the grounds of their Beverly Hills home on Saturday, the singer’s spokesman said. There was tight security for the ceremony, after the couple agreed a deal with Hello! magazine. Field has appeared in US TV series including Days of Our Lives and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Black buses with tinted windows were used to ferry in the guests. There were no fans outside, although some media helicopters flew overhead. Before the news was officially confirmed, News of the World reporter James Desborough told BBC 5 live the paper had photos taken from a helicopter. He said: “We got pictures of Ayda looking astonishingly beautiful going up an aisle which was created in the back garden of his Mulholland home.” Williams was “dressed in a tuxedo really looking very dapper”, he added. The couple have been together for more than three years. Last year, the singer denied his mother’s apparent confirmation of the couple’s engagement. They had appeared on an Australian radio show together in which the singer [...]

Take That is an English pop musical group consisting of members Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Jason Orange, Mark Owen, and, formerly, Robbie Williams. After seeing major success in the early to mid 1990s as a five person boyband act, a reformed four man version of the band achieved new success in the late-2000s without Williams. Formed in Manchester in 1990, Take That sold more than 30 million records between 1991–1996. Between the band’s first single release in 1991 and their breakup in 1996, the BBC described Take That as “the most successful British band since The Beatles in the UK, beloved of young and old alike”. Take That’s dance-oriented pop tunes and soulful ballads dominated the UK charts in the first half of the 1990s, spawning two of the best selling albums of the decade with Everything Changes (which was nominated for the 1994 Mercury Prize) and Greatest Hits 1996, and according to Allmusic, “at this time were giant superstars in Europe with the main question about them not being about whether they could get a hit single, but how many and which would make it to number one”. The band split up in 1996, but after a 2005 documentary [...]
